Join the AIFOD Working Group: Your Opportunity to Shape the Future!

Implementing the Vienna Declaration: Creating AI Futures Together

The AI For Developing Countries Forum (AIFOD) warmly invites dedicated individuals to be a part of our focused working groups tasked with actualizing the principles outlined in the Vienna Declaration and gearing up for the upcoming Geneva Summit 2025. This is a remarkable chance to influence how artificial intelligence can be tailored to serve the interests of developing nations, fostering a sustainable and impactful future.

Our Mission and Purpose

In the wake of the trailblazing AIFOD Vienna Forum, we are setting up specialized working groups aimed at converting the ideals of the Vienna Declaration into tangible actions. Our objective is to ensure that AI development aligns with the genuine needs of developing countries while honoring their sovereignty and cultural identities. These working groups will focus on crafting frameworks, guidelines, and specific initiatives designed to close the global AI gap.

Working Group Focus Areas

We are organizing four critical working groups:

  • AI Education and Capacity Building – This group will devise frameworks for sustainable AI education tailored for developing nations. Members will collaborate on creating adaptable curricula, designing training programs suited for limited infrastructure, and establishing mentorship networks. The goal is to build enduring local expertise that can spearhead future innovations.
  • Digital Sovereignty and Governance – Participants will concentrate on crafting guidelines that empower nations to retain control over their AI advancements while engaging in the global AI landscape. This encompasses developing policy templates, establishing data sovereignty frameworks, and ensuring ethical AI deployment that aligns with local values.
  • Technology Transfer and Innovation – This group will formulate actionable strategies for knowledge and technology exchange in AI across countries. Members will create guidelines to adapt AI solutions for resource-limited settings and foster sustainable local innovation ecosystems.
  • Cultural Integration and Local Innovation – Aimed at ensuring that AI development respects and weaves in local cultural values, this group will establish frameworks for safeguarding cultural heritage while supporting innovative local responses to indigenous challenges.
