Axelera AI Secures £8.7 Million Investment from Bitfury and imec, Launching Innovative Start-Up in AI Technology

Axelera AI Start-up Emerges with £8.7M Backing

Axelera AI, a Dutch semiconductor start-up focused on artificial intelligence, has recently come out of stealth mode with an impressive £8.7 million in seed funding. The investment round was primarily led by Bitfury, an incubator company that specializes in security and infrastructure for the Bitcoin blockchain. Other contributors to this funding include the nanoelectronics research and development center imec and venture capital firm Innovation Industries.

The startup is in the process of developing a chipset designed to enhance AI and machine learning algorithms at the edge. Axelera AI asserts that its product will operate with minimal power consumption while being offered at a significantly reduced cost compared to its competitors. Fabrizio del Maffeo, the CEO and co-founder, stated, “With our launch as a new independent company and the closing of this investment, Axelera AI is now claiming its place as a significant player in the global AI sector.”

Del Maffeo emphasized the rich expertise of their team in areas such as software development, image processing, dataflow architecture, in-memory computing, algorithms, and quantization, all backed by a proven track record of business success. He expressed eagerness to build upon their substantial research and development efforts, introducing innovative solutions worldwide in the upcoming years. The Axelera chipset is expected to be available to select customers beginning in 2022.

The use of gform.initializeOnLoaded() is now deprecated within the form editor context and will be removed in Gravity Forms 3.1. This function was initially designed to ensure that certain scripts loaded correctly after the main form scripts, themes, and the DOM were fully initialized.

In the updated implementation, various event listeners are established to handle the loading state of scripts and DOM content, effectively managing form rendering and interactions. It includes handlers for actions, hooks, and method calls that facilitate how developers can manage their Gravity Forms dynamically.

Similar to action hooks, the application of filters is also integrated within this system, allowing for streamlined processes in both handling actions and results in form submissions. This approach ensures that developers can efficiently manage user interactions and form submissions without deprecated functions.

Here is a breakdown of some key parameters and sections used in the form:

  • First Name (Required)
  • Last Name (Required)
  • Job Title (Required)
  • Company Name (Required)
  • Email (Required)
  • Company Size (Required)

    • 1-10
    • 11-200
    • 201-1000
    • 1001-5000
    • 5000+
  • Country (Required)

    • United Kingdom
    • United States
    • Afghanistan
    • Albania
    • … (Other countries listed here)

The form submission includes a clause indicating that by providing an email address, users agree to the terms and privacy notice stated. This enhances user awareness and compliance regarding data handling.

After submission, various scripts manage the loading states and content updates on the form seamlessly, ensuring a smooth user experience with effective validations, error handling, and loading indicators.
