Deloitte Unveils Unlimited Reality: Transforming Business with AI-Driven Virtual Environments
Deloitte Launches Unlimited Reality to Enable AI-Powered Virtual Worlds
Deloitte has introduced Unlimited Reality, a groundbreaking offering aimed at assisting clients in utilizing emerging technologies such as AI to develop immersive virtual environments as part of the metaverse. The term “metaverse,” originally introduced in the 1992 sci-fi novel “Snow Crash,” has gained significant traction in recent years. Over time, the metaverse is anticipated to evolve into a new iteration of the web—an expansive network of interconnected virtual worlds, potentially blending aspects of the physical realm.
The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a surge in demand for new ways to connect, collaborate, and navigate daily life. As the world transitions towards a more stable phase, curiosity about the metaverse continues to thrive amid uncertainties. Dan Helfrich, Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, emphasizing the vast opportunities for digital realms to enrich both business and society. He stated, “We are pleased to offer access to connected virtual worlds that may exceed the economics of our current physical economy.”
Unlimited Reality offers strategic guidance to businesses on transforming operations through shared virtual experiences, accurate digital twins, monetization of digital assets, and engaging customers with Web3 architectures. This requires Deloitte to provide comprehensive support across various emerging technologies, including AI, IoT, blockchain, AR/VR, and 5G. These technologies, while promising, can often present challenges in implementation, necessitating a coordinated approach for optimal outcomes.
Using AI to Create Value in Virtual and Physical Realms
Deloitte is also launching Dimension10 Studio, an innovative hub where experts assist clients in building AI-enhanced metaverses. Dimension10 Studio is underpinned by NVIDIA-Certified Systems featuring NVIDIA RTX GPUs, powering Omniverse Enterprise, and is complemented by Deloitte’s in-house NVIDIA DGX supercomputer that supports its AI, analytics, cloud, and digital practices.
A study from Deloitte indicated that 74% of businesses remain in the experimental phase of AI adoption, lacking a clear strategy. The Unlimited Reality offering enables clients to explore and test AI use cases across industries in a virtual environment. Deloitte recognizes that AI brings value to businesses through six primary avenues:
- Cost reduction: Minimizing repetitive tasks.
- Speed to execution: Reducing time to achieve results.
- Reduced complexity: Enhancing decision-making with proactive analytics.
- Transformed engagement: Improving interactions with technology.
- Fueled innovation: Enabling new business models.
- Fortified trust: Boosting security against threats.
Irfan Saif, co-leader of US AI services at Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, noted that while AI maturity varies across industries, it ushers in unprecedented efficiency and performance for businesses of all sizes. Organizations stand to fully unlock AI’s potential through widespread adoption and integration within their operations.
