“Microsoft and Vodafone Join Forces to Create Revolutionary AI Assistant for Turkey”

On March 15, Microsoft and Vodafone Turkey announced their collaboration to create an AI-powered digital assistant, according to the tech giant’s general manager. This innovative Turkish version of Vodafone’s renowned digital assistant, TOBi, is being crafted using Microsoft’s advanced natural language processing technology, LUIS, as revealed by Murat Kansu.

While addressing journalists in Istanbul, Kansu highlighted that this marks the very first instance of Microsoft utilizing Turkish as a factory-default language. TOBi has been designed primarily to assist customers with inquiries related to billing, tariffs, devices, and pricing structures.

“Initially, TOBi will be capable of engaging in written communication, and in subsequent phases, it will evolve to comprehend spoken language,” Kansu explained. He emphasized, “This initiative is a testament to the confidence and optimism that global companies have in Turkey’s promising future.” Furthermore, Kansu pointed out that the project is being developed entirely by talented Turkish engineers, ensuring its indigenous roots.
