Samsung’s Exciting Move: Integrating Perplexity’s AI Technology into Future Smartphones

Samsung is moving towards an investment in the AI search startup Perplexity, which may lead to the integration of the company’s technology into Samsung devices, according to a report by Bloomberg citing anonymous sources.

As a significant investor in Perplexity’s current funding round, Samsung is in negotiations to have the Perplexity app and its assistant pre-installed on its smartphones. Additionally, there are plans to incorporate Perplexity’s search capabilities into Samsung’s default web browser.

Moreover, discussions are underway regarding the use of Perplexity’s AI technology to enhance certain features of Samsung’s own assistant, Bixby. The partnership is expected to be officially announced within this year.

Requests for comments from both Samsung and Perplexity have not yet been returned.

Currently, Perplexity is seeking to raise $500 million at a valuation of $14 billion, as reported by Bloomberg in May.

Samsung is not the only tech giant interested in Perplexity’s features. Previously, it was reported that Apple has considered integrating Perplexity as a search engine option in Safari. Furthermore, in April, Motorola announced a collaboration with Perplexity to implement AI features.
