Unlock Creative Potential with Microsoft Bing’s Free Sora-Powered AI Video Generator
Microsoft Bing has announced the introduction of the Bing Video Creator within its app, utilizing OpenAI’s Sora model to enable users to generate videos from text prompts.
This release marks the first instance where Sora’s video generation feature will be accessible for free, despite OpenAI having restricted its use to paying customers only due to their enduring partnership with Microsoft.
Currently, the Bing Video Creator is not available on desktop, and it may take several hours for videos to be produced, even when opting for the “fast” mode, which is intended to deliver results in just a few minutes.
All users logged into a Microsoft account can create up to 10 video clips at no charge. After that, each video will require 100 Microsoft Rewards points. Users accumulate these points through searches on Bing or purchases at the Microsoft Store; for example, they earn 5 points for each PC search on Bing, with a maximum of 150 points per day.
Users can queue up to three 5-second video generations simultaneously; however, the length of the videos cannot be adjusted at this time. Currently, videos can only be produced in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio, likely encouraging users to share their AI-generated content on platforms like TikTok or Instagram. Horizontal 9:16 uploads are expected to be introduced soon.
